Asha Nuthi, D.O.
Dr Nuthi has served the Southern California patient population for nearly fifteen years. She values how important vision is to each patient, and strives to keep up to date with the most recent clinical studies and available treatments. She believes in patient education and tailoring treatments to each individual’s needs.
Dr. Nuthi graduated from Vanderbilt University cum laude with a Neuroscience major. From a very early age, she was dedicated to becoming a physician. She completed her medical degree at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City. Dr. Nuthi then went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York at Stonybrook. Following residency, She completed a medical retina fellowship at the Joslin Clinic/ Harvard Medical School, working with renowned retina specialists that pioneered laser therapies in diabetic eye disease.
Once completing her retina fellowship, Dr. Nuthi practiced at Retina Specialists of North Alabama, working in an underserved area for almost two years. In 2005, she joined the well known retina group Southern California Desert Retina Consultants in Palm Springs. In her seven years there, Dr. Nuthi served as a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials in macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy.
Since 2012, Dr. Nuthi has worked with San Diego Vitreoretinal Consultants, a leading retina group, providing care in San Diego and the North County.
Dr Nuthi is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the American Medical Association, and attends the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual conventions.
